Beef Pepper Stir-Fry

The other day I bought some beef and made a simple stir-fry with it.

I love eating stir-fry! The crunch of the vegetables, the taste of spicy and savory with the soft flavorful meat.  Not many people look at stir-fry and think wow that’s a beautiful work of art. Sadly or happily (whichever way you look at it) I do! Another favorite thing about stir-fry that I love are the beautiful colors! I love colors! (For those of you who know me, and know my love for wearing black are laughing at this statement!) I know the saying goes “don’t judge a book by it’s cover”, but I judge my food by how it looks. I know looks aren’t everything, but you eat with your eyes first then your mouth. Stir-fry is all about the blend of colors, flavors, and textures.

Making stir-fry is easy and it’s my go-to meal for when I am in a rush! You can use whatever ingredients you have on hand. I think any FRESH vegetable will work and you can add whatever protein you prefer or no meat at all!

Here’s how I made my stir-fry.

First I cleaned the fat off the beef and cut it into cube size pieces for easy cooking. Next I marinated the beef in a mixture of soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, pepper, cornstarch, and sriracha and kept it aside as I prepped the rest of the ingredients. I had some bell peppers and onions so I chopped those into medium size pieces.(Side note: I had broccoli in the fridge and love broccoli, but The Husband is not a fan so I thought I’d be nice and only put in the peppers and onions)  I made sure to keep my veggies all around the same size for equal cooking time. Next I minced 4 garlic cloves and sliced ginger into some thin strips.

After prepping all my ingredients, I turned on the stove and put my wok on it and added a tiny bit of oil and waited for the oil to get hot. Next I added my beef mixture into the hot pan and let it sizzle. I separated my beef mixture into two batches and cooked it separately because I did not want to crowd the meat while it cooked. Once it was seared and I saw a little bit of brown, put the beef onto a plate and let it rest. I added a little bit of oil onto my wok, and added the garlic and ginger and let it marry with the oil to create a wonderful aroma. After about a minute, I added my vegetables and mixed it all and let it cook. I added a bit of soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sriracha to this mixture and let it cook.  You can add whatever sauce you want, just make sure not to add too much otherwise it will become soggy! After a while, I added the beef back in and let all the flavors blend in. you can serve it by itself, with rice, or noodles. Whatever you prefer!

Below you can see the pictures of the different ingredients and my final product! One thing about this recipe is you can add whatever vegetable you want! I had peppers and onions handy so I just whipped it up using those two!
